In 1953 Walt Disney Productions released "Peter Pan". Based on James M. Barrie's classic tale of the boy who never grows old, the film was an instant hit and has become one of the most beloved of all Disney animated features. As the eldest daughter of the Darling family, Wendy has the responsibility to look after her younger brothers, John and Michael, while their father and mother go out for the evening. But Wendy is bit of a dreamer and, while the boys play Peter Pan versus Captain Hook amongst the bedclothes, she looks out across the London rooftops waiting for Peter Pan and Tinkerbell to come and tell stories of the many adventures with Captain Hook and the pirates in Never Land.
