"St. Paul's Cathedral is in the distance and, as we look over Edwardian London, we see our very special nanny arrive in a very special way. When Mary Poppins comes to the Bank's household, nothing will ever be the same again."
— Peter Ellenshaw
"Mary Poppins" (1964) was nominated for 13 Academy Awards®, winning five, the most ever awarded to a Disney film. It had taken Walt Disney almost twenty years to obtain the rights to the story from author P.L. Travers. Sadly, Disney died less than two years after the release of his greatest live-action film achievement.
